Energy brokers working for business and the community

As of 2021, we serve over 120 customers in Livingston, McLean, and surrounding counties, representing 600+ utility accounts and $5 million in annual energy use. In November alone $3,100+ was donated to organizations in your community such as Boys & Girls Club, Child Protection Network, Rotary Foundation, Marcfirst, and LifePoints. This year, 23% of revenue has been given back to the community and average customer savings is 21%.

Beginning August 2020, we offer a limited enrollment electricity program that will save ANY customer a MINIMUM of 15% over utility rates (regardless of the size of the account) with the option to exit the program at ANY time with NO fees, by combining customer loads into power pools.

Of course, traditional fixed term contracts are always available and, especially for larger or off-peak users, can and do provide savings of 30%+ over utility rates and other large brokers.

Our founder, Ron Slagel, has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue and has been in the power industry for over 20 years, working for utilities including Ameren (Illinois Power) and Duke Energy, in addition to market operators and generation companies across the Midwest.

With experience in energy markets as financial instruments, as well as their physical operation in the delivery of a commodity every day, we are able to help our customers stay competitive and manage exposure to market risk, thereby helping the communities in which they operate.

We know how the energy markets operate, so we can offer you the best solutions for your business, financially and operationally, and let you decide what’s most important to you. We are not one size fits all, because energy rates definitely are not.

Daniel Monical

Account Executive

Dan began working for a benefits management firm while earning a B.S. degree in Business Administration at Illinois State University. In preparation for a career in the benefits industry, he began focusing his studies on investments, risk and insurance, international business law, federal income taxation, information systems, organizational strategy, and managerial accounting practices.

After administering retirement plans at a benefits management firm, working directly under a CPA, his primary focus became self-funded health plans involving captives. As his experience in the employee benefits industry expanded, he developed a robust understanding of ERISA compliance and welfare benefit plans (e.g. 419A(f)(6), 419e), along with exposure to 831(b) captives, tax law, and reporting requirements for self-insured group medical plans.

Lastly, Dan coached wrestling at Le Roy High School, instructed swim lessons, and served as a lifeguard supervisor for an indoor and outdoor aquatics facility while attending college, which he believes built a strong foundation as he entered his professional career. Although he was able to impact others, during this time he often expresses how important the positive mentors that played major roles in his personal and professional development.
